dApp staking on Shiden Network is live now. You can support us by staking SDN, and you'll earn higher rewards.

For those who don't know, Open Emoji Battler is a decentralized game owned by the community in the Polkadot ecosystem. The open-source code runs on-chain, and the DAO governs this project. We have skilled gameplay, and players can battle and earn in strategic PvP matches with emojis.

This post explains about Shiden Network, dApp staking, and our extra incentive program.

What is Shiden Network? ⛓

Shiden Network, a sister network of Astar Network, is a smart-contract parachain on Kusama. SDN is a native currency of Shiden.

We are developing Wasm smart contracts on Shiden to build the first Polkadot native game led by the community. Open Emoji Battler has been a member of the Astar & Shiden Builders Program with a unanimous vote from the community.

Note that our live prototype is not on Shiden yet because the Wasm smart contract has not been launched.

What is dApp staking? 🌟

Shiden has a unique reward mechanism called dApp staking. dApp developers like us can register dApps on the dApps store, and supporters can stake SDN to them on their preference. The chain distributes half of the block rewards to dApps and its stakers. The developers will get the tokens based on the amount staked in their apps.

This feature has several benefits:

1. the chain can attract dApps to grow the ecosystem,
2. dApps can gain a new type of income, and
3. users can support their favorite projects while earning.

This system is a good fit for us because we are a 100% community project.

Our developer rewards will be used for our Play-to-Earn prize, development/treasury, and extra staking rewards.

Why should you stake on Open Emoji Battler over other projects? Not only supporting the future of blockchain games, but we also have extra rewards for all of our stakers.

You'll get 2x rewards by staking to us on Shiden dApp staking. The standard reward distribution ratio between a developer and its stakers is 4:1, but we change it to 3:2. Every month, we'll send you the same amount of SDN that you received by staking on us.
