Darwinia Highlights July | Monthly Recap

Protocol Updates

  1. Replace BSC light client pallet with solidity implementation in the smart chain.

  2. Enable evm pallet in Darwinia runtime.

  3. Unify precompile ids in all Darwinia chains, and remove deprecated precompiles, including Transfer, MPT, S2S, etc. EVM compatible precompiles start with 1, stable darwinia precompiles start with 1024, and unstable precompiles start with 2048.

  4. Use Dispatch precompile to achieve RING/KTON transfer from smart chains to substrate chain.

  5. Custom MultiAddress to support direct transfer balances to an Ethereum address from the substrate chain.

  6. Clean and remove useless RPC methods from nodes, including RPC from balances, mmr, substrate-messages pallets, etc.

  7. Testing and stabilization of message_transact message for EVM to EVM between Darwinia and Crab smart chains through substrate bridges.

  8. Darwinia and Crab runtime upgrade 1230.

  9. Faster relay implementation of Bridger using pre-indexing, checkout version v0.6.0 and v0.6.1.

    1. The first release of Darwinia SDK for solidity developers, checkout version v1.0.0.

    2. Add remote-governance pallet. Use Crab’s governance system to manage Crab Parachain through the S2S bridge.

    3. BLS12381 lib in solidity.

    4. Darwinia POSA light client.

About Darwinia Network

Github | Website | Medium | Twitter | Telegram

Darwinia is a cross-chain messaging infrastructure, which provides a light client-based, programmable, universal cross-chain messaging network for decentralized applications. Now, we’ve successfully used Darwinia’s light-client cross-chain messaging protocol(LCMP) to bridge cross-chain messages between substrate-based chains, and even between substrate-based chains and EVM chains, meanwhile, Darwinia provides developers with the SDK, and developers can easily integrate cross-chain capabilities into their Dapps. This will have profound implications for cross-chain interoperability, and Darwinia will as a cross-chain messaging infrastructure to prompt the building of a hybrid cross-chain network for Polkadot.

Darwinia Network is a highly-secure programmable cross-chain messaging infrastructure for decentralized applications. Our light-client cross-chain messaging protocol (LCMP) supports arbitrary message passing between Substrate chains, and between Substrate and EVM chains, and SDK empower developers with the tools necessary to build the next generation of Web3 applications and seamless user experiences even when transacting across multiple chains or protocols.

Darwinia as a cross-chain messaging infrastructure will facilitate the building of a hybrid cross-chain network for Polkadot.
