🔴 ⭕️ Relay Chain

  • The Nodle parachain is live.
  • Polkadot v0.9.22 has been released with LOW upgrade priority. This release switches to a new JSON-RPC server library and adds nomination pools to the native Kusama runtime. 
  • OriginTrail has won the most recent parachain slot auction. 

🔴 🏛 Governance

  • Referendum 62, to open the first five HRMP channels from Statemint, is passing unanimously with 9 days left to vote. 
  • Referendum 63, to upgrade the Polkadot Relay Chain to runtime to v9200, is passing by a wide margin with 2 days left to vote. 
  • Motion 200, funding common-good Polkadot infrastructure at universities, has passed. 
  • Motion 201, funding the prize pool for the Polkadot Hackathon Global Series: North America, has passed. 
  • Motion 202, funding several teams to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos, has passed. It will now be voted on by the community in a referendum.
  • There is a post seeking feedback for a Proposal for an educational series at AIBC Americas Summit and related events. 
  • A new proposal by the Spanish Polkadot Hub team aims to cover milestone 3 of their project focused on increasing education and providing information to the Polkadot Spanish-speaking community with the development of an educational hub.
  • The final Treasury payout to gbaci for the Polkadot for Beginners book was approved by the Polkadot Council.

  • Shawn Tabrizi made a post seeking feedback on a common name service for Polkadot. 
  • Hashed Systems has posted on a potential Treasury Proposal to develop a pallet for “Graded Assets and Fractional Uniques”.

  • Listen Network won the most recent parachain slot auction. 
  • KSM locked up for the first set of parachain auctions in 2021 have been released and returned to all crowdloan participants’ accounts.

🦅 🏛 Governance

  • Referendum 196, to open an HRMP channel between Parallel Heiko and Statemine, passed. 
  • Referendum 197, seeking to grant sufficiency to USDT, has been passed and executed. To understand what sufficiency is and why it is important, see here.
  • Referendum 198, to fund a Treasury Proposal for liquidity for stablecoin pools, has passed public vote. 
  • Referendum 200, to update the runtime and genesis of Dora Factory, has passed. It will be executed on 30 May.
  • Referendum 201, to make the remark “Expect chaos!” on-chain, is currently failing with 94% in favor. 
  • Referendum 202, aiming to upgrade Kusama to runtime v9220, is up for vote by the community now.
  • Motion 481, funding a Treasury Proposal for “Polkadot World” in Barcelona 17 - 19 June, has passed. 
  • Motion 482, to set a curator for Bounty 12 (Content Development and Incentivization), is under consideration by the Kusama Council. 
  • Motion 484, amending the call to grant sufficiency to the RMRK token on Statemine, is under Council consideration.
  • Nova Wallet, a Treasury-funded wallet, is looking for feedback for a second Treasury Proposal for additional features. 
  • There is a post seeking feedback for an Infrastructure Maintenance Bounty to provide bounties for providing various infrastructure projects with funding.
  • The Treasury-funded Kusamaverse launched on May 24th. Watch this video to learn more about this special metaverse project.

  • There is a potential Treasury Proposal to study privacy in the Polkadot ecosystem within the context of Swiss law. 
  • There is a potential Treasury Proposal to incentivize for participation in nomination pools.
  • The Governance Rewards NFT project is seeking funding via Tip to ensure the continuance of the project.
