🤔 What if 1 SUB = 1 Post?

TL;DR: Subsocial is evolving to a SocialFi model focused on monetization and is considering increasing fees to balance monetization with content value.

A few years ago, we designed Subsocial as a platform for building social applications that is very cheap to use, but times are changing and we are moving towards SocialFi and monetization, where everyone can earn 2-3 SUBs per comment, and even 1000+ SUBs for good content. Moreover, for 1 SUB you can write 50 comments, and using energy - even 100!

People can write a large number of random generated posts, hoping that some will be liked and they can earn 1+ SUB per post or comment

Our goal is to offer not only ways to monetize but also quality valuable content and good discussion under each post, so we are thinking about the idea of increasing the base fees for specific actions that carry social value: posts, comments, spaces.

An average social network user makes 30-50 actions a month (not counting likes)

Imagine creating a post or a comment costs 1 SUB, 30 posts - 30 SUB, each post is a whole part of the network, which brings it value!

It still remains cheap, a typical user needs to spend $0.15-0.25 a month on fees, but this can be a simple yet effective protection against low value content!

However, our energy system allows for cheapening the use in the future if the community will consider the transaction cost high and it can also just be lowered again with a runtime upgrade too!

This innovation will give an impetus to the new stage of Subsocial SocialFi in searching for a balance!

What do you think about this matter?
