Kusama Dragons NFT Focus #1: Alien Ant Pharm

Today, for this **1st **special episode of Kusama Dragons NFT Focus, I am honored to introduce you to the inhabitants of the Kusama Galaxy: Alien Ant Pharm!

It was really interesting for me to have the chance to ask all these questions to Sango, co-creator of the project.

If you are curious to know more about the world behind an unexplored universe full of aliens… you are in the right place.

PRINCEPS: "Hello Sango, it's great to have you here! How did your career in the NFT world start?
Why did you choose RMRK to share your work?"

SANGO: "I started as a collector, and wish I would have started collecting sooner!! I only started messing around with the idea of creating my own once I discovered the Singular platform, and being so drawn in by it's back story and it's website, and how it was using extrinsics to defeat Kusama not having smart contract capabilities built in to layer 0 so as to be lightweight, and fast. I also loved the chain graffiti idea, and wanted to try it out for myself.

I then later introduced my wife to the NFT world, as she was an artist as a hobby and a second job over the years on Etsy, Red Bubble, and also as a hobby.

Now that she is in the fold, my days of creation are over, as she outclasses me by lightyears. I help her come up with ideas, and run the day to day operations and will do so in all our future series while she focuses on the artwork itself."

PRINCEPS: "Can you briefly introduce us to the essential characteristics of each Alien in the Kusama galaxy?"

SANGO: "While our seriesisn't auto-generated, this leaves alot open for us into the future of the series. This allows us to do refreshes or updates if you will as we go along.

Outside of the tribe and each tribes back story, the only class that is constantly changing in design is the Colony, and that's by the nature of their place within the galaxy.

Other classes such as the Empire Class will vary by having 3 separate main themes: Horus, Anubis, and the one that's been revealed already, which we like to call Cleo.

Horus will be an egyptian style god with an eagle head. Anubis the dog god. And our Cleo which is a flying cat god inn the egyptian style.

Our other tribes to this point have been mostly fitting within one style up to this point in the series, but could be changed at any time.

The Architect is the 1st tribe, and they feature the least features. Messengers follow, and are the peacekeepers and masters of communication, so often times they are showing the intergalactic sign for peace. Foundry are mystics, and often carry a magic wand or item. Demagogues are multi-armed. And the aforementioned Colony are mutated cybord alien hybrids."

PRINCEPS: "NFTs, especially here on RMRK, are often linked to various utilities.
What kind of utilities do you get through buying one or more Aliens?"

SANGO: "The Aliens are being used as a layer 0 for our brand. We have many many other series planned, and owning Aliens will get holders airdrops. Those who complete a fleet and redeem a legends of Kaos will get airdrops from all future works.

But any holder, big or small, will be rewarded.

We also have Museum of History NFT's from each tribe that also grant revenue share from this series and our upcoming 2.0 feature series will have a big mixture of different gamifications based on rev sharing and contests."

PRINCEPS: "Let's talk about community building.
With your work in the Dotsama space, you have already gathered a lively community in continuous expansion around your project.
What do you think are the most important challenges for creating a community?"

SANGO: "Just being an active member within the different communities within DotSama, I feel like I know everyone already! I've been very blessed in my journey, and am glad I have found myself here with you all. I'm also a collector as well, so I have gotten to know other artists and their communities before I ever started experimenting myself."

PRINCEPS: "How does the creative process behind your NFTs work? Are you planning to expand your team in the future?"

SANGO: "My wife and I come up with everything collaboratively. I help her expand on her ideas, and she executes them. She's much more talented than I, and I often can help by coming up with a new angle or imaginative idea for her to expand on, so it's really great to work with her. We make a really solid team. Her strengths are where I at times lack, and so on.

She always comes up with a new way to apply the idea often times as well! It is just the two of us, and will likely remain this way over the next few series, but we may need assistance in the future on the forum/server/discord/moderation aspect in the future as well, and I may also reach out to a few friends in the space for ideas on coding approaches for the smart contracts once we begin deploying SC applicable mints and series."

PRINCEPS: "In this transition period from Singular V1 to V2 creators need to adopt a learning approach to the new standards.
How are you approaching the new world of RMRK 2.0?
Are you going to use RMRK 2.0 features in your collections? Have you already thought about some use cases for RMRK 2.0 powered NFTs?"

SANGO: "Oh, without a doubt! We have already been dreaming up what's next and how to incorporate art legos across our next several series. My wife, while not as into the tech side as I am by nature on crypto in general, is actually more excited for 2.0 than even I am. And I'm as bullish as they come! But she is genuinely excited to show everyone what she can do with 2.0, and I have a few ideas up my sleeve on how to add value through these new avenues for our holders."

PRINCEPS: "What are the main aspect (s) people should be excited about your project?"

SANGO: "Come for the Aliens, stay for all that this series will bring you in the future. We will never forget those who have supported us, and will always find new ways to give back to those people and let them know how much they mean to us. With us, you're buying the artist more than you're buying the art."

PRINCEPS: "In less than 5 months, Alien Ant Pharm became a well established reality on RMRK.What are the main features you’re trying to evolve/add to your project? What challenges await you in the next months?"

SANGO: "The migration (EDIT: migration started on Apr 8th!) will be our largest challenge to date, but we are also excited for it. Preparing for the merge has also given us a moment to step back and get caught up on collabs and commissioned pieces as well as think about how to retool to add new excitement for the coming part of AAP."

PRINCEPS: "In your opinion, what are the main characteristics to create a successful NFT collection?"

SANGO: "Know your collectors, reach out and build relationships, never force it, and always give back to those who support you, until the very end."
