The Great Escapejust got a nice lift!

Three months after the launch of the V 1.0 of the game, we’re happy to introduce you to V1.5 : The Great Update

This enhanced version of the game will allow you to enjoy a smoother, more personalized gaming experience with higher rewards incentives while also enabling players to rent/borrow GLMR JUNGLE NFTs.

Let us guide you through all the exciting new features you will find in this major update!

🏆 New Reward System

Concerning the weekly rewards, we’ve got some good news!

Thanks to the support of the Moonbeam foundation, we will now be able to include extra incentives to the rewards for all the duration of V1.5 (December 2022- March 2023).

It will result in a 300 to 400% increase of the GLMR rewards compared to V 1.0, making the competition even more interesting between the players.

As it was already the case on V1.0 of the Great Escape, players will still compete for weekly prizes made of GLMR and GLMB based on the previous week’s staking rewards, royalties and game fees collected.

The weeks always start on Thursday at around 18H UTC (right after GLMR APES weekly Discord event) and end on the following Thursday at 16H UTC. At the end of the week all leader boards are reset to 0.

Following feedback from the players, our DAO voted to make some adjustments to the reward system of V1.5.

✅ The weekly prize pool (WPP) will be spread between the following 7 categories:

Best Accumulated Score (35% of the WPP): The accumulated score obtained by making the sum of all the scores obtained during a single game session by a player during the week. The TOP 50 best accumulated scores are rewarded.
Best Single Score for a Gorilla (5% of the WPP): The TOP 15 best single scores obtained by a gorilla during a single game session are rewarded.
Best Single Score for a Chimpanzee (5% of the WPP): The TOP 15 best single scores obtained by a chimpanzee during a single game session are rewarded.
Best Single Score for an Orangutan (5% of the WPP): The TOP 15 best single scores obtained by an orangutan during a single game session are rewarded.
Best Single Score for a Bonobo (5% of the WPP): The TOP 15 best single scores obtained by a bonobo during a single game session are rewarded.
Participation Prize (35% of the WPP): Each game session played counts as one lottery ticket (or 3 for sessions played by an Albino ape). At the end of the week, 33 random tickets are picked and share the participation prize equally.
Tribe Wars (10% of the WPP): All players are encouraged to join a tribe on Discord (Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Orangutans and Bonobos). These tribes act as a sort of sub-Dao and are self-governed according to their own rules. Each week, the tribe with the highest activity ratio pockets the prize and shares it or use it as they see fit.

✨ All players are eligible to receive up to 1 prize per category per week (up to 7 per player). By combining several prizes, the results should be juicy enough to please our fruit-loving apes.

🎮 A nicer gaming experience

Rewards are sure nice, but a smooth and personalized gaming experience is even better!

With the Great Update, you will now finally be able to play with YOUR Ape. The traits of the GLMR JUNGLE NFTs such as clothes and hats have been added to the in-game visual assets and will be shown on your ape character.

Thanks to that, your ape will look like no other, making it clearly identifiable when you’ll share screenshots of the game on Twitter to brag about your latest high score!

We have also taken into account the community’s recommendations concerning the Gorillas and Orangutans in order to make them more fun to play.

Both species will be slightly faster (by about 5%) making them more enjoyable to play.

Their gravity of has also been modified in order to reduce the latency between the jump and the return to the ground, which should help the players save some time when jumping out of higher platforms.

The HP of these 3 following species have also been increased:

Gorillas +5 (125 → 130)
Orangutans + 5 (100→ 105)
Bonobos +2 (113→ 115)

Last but not least, the HP points remaining at the end of the game session will now be multiplied by 2 on the final score (compared to 1 in V1.0).

These changes will make the gorillas and orangutans more attractive to play as it will reduce the gap of skills between the different species.

🕹 Combined with the new differentiated best single score reward system, these fixes should make the gaming experience more enjoyable for the players regardless of the specie of their ape.

🚀 Jungle Boosts: put your ape on fire!

If you’ve been around the Jungle for a long time, you might remember with a bit of nostalgia the good old times when you could stake your GLMR JUNGLE NFT to get those sweet JPTS points that you could then turn into badges.

With the Great Update, it’s now time to bring these JPTS back in the game again!

JPTS will now allow players to purchase Jungle Boosts to increase the performance of their ape for the duration of one game session.

In concrete terms, it means that after selecting a GLMR JUNGLE NFT, a Great Badge and a Minor Badge, players will then land on a Jungle boost selection page and have the option to add 1 boost to their ape by paying a JPTS fee.

The Great Update will initially launch with 3 jungle boosts:

1 increasing your Jump height by 5% (50 JPTS)
1 increasing your HP bar by 5% (75 JPTS)
1 increasing your speed by 5% (100 JPTS)

Players will be able to use 1 Jungle boost per single game session (you can’t have them all at once!).Once the game session is over, the boost will disappear and will need to be bought back to be used again.

⚙ Additional jungle boosts are already being tested and will be gradually added to the selection panel over the coming weeks. As JPTS will not be that easy to earn, it might be a good idea to save up some to enjoy some of the awesome features they will provide…

🎯 JPTS: The great comeback

JPTS will be obtained by playing the game, obtaining high scores and more importantly, maintaining their playing streaks!

Players will automatically receive 1 JPTS on their wallet at the end of each game session.

On top of it, players that reach a certain level of final score will also earn an extra bonus of:

+1 JPTS for each game session with a final score between 501 and 1000
+2 JPTS for each game session with a final score between 1001 and 1500
+3 JPTS for each game session with a final score between 1501 and 2000
+4 JPTS for each game session with a final score higher than 2001

Players will be able to claim these bonuses directly on their player’s profile at the end of each week.

🔥 However, the best way to obtain JPTS will definitely be to keep up with your activity streak. All players who managed to play 1 game per day for the full week (7 days) will receive an additional 100 JPTS claimable on their profile.

🐵 Player’s profile

The Great Escape V1.5 will generate a player’s profile for each unique wallet address playing the game.

The player’s profile will display a wide range of information about the player such as the player’s tribe and level, the number of games played, his average and his total score.

Players will be encouraged to join one of the four tribe on Discord : Gorilla, Chimpanzee, Orangutan or Bonobo in order to be eligible for Tribe wars rewards and also to be able to compete with their names on the leaderboard (instead of their wallet).

The personalized profile will also indicates the current streak of the player and will show his Jungle commit (history of his playing activity).

Players will be assigned a level based on their total score (combining the single score of all the game sessions they ever played since the game launched).

💡 While this level of XP might look purely aesthetic for now, it might very well be laying out the premises of an exciting soul-bond NFT feature… Who knows?

🖼 NFT renting in partnership with Double Protocol

The long awaited feature allowing NFT renting for GLMR Jungle and Badges is finally available!

Thanks to our partnership with Double Protocol, anyone will be able to freely list or rent their NFTs.

The process is simple and secure and will allow renters to list their NFTs for a custom period of minimum 1 day up to several months.

⚠ If the renter does not provide any custom renting period, the NFT will be listed for 6 months by default.

Renters will then determine price per day for their NFT and can even decide on a minimum renting period (for example 3 days etc…).

After approving the transaction, the NFT will be sent and locked to a contract and the renters will receive a DO NFT on their wallet which act as a sort of receipt to prove their ownership over it.

Once listed, the NFT will not be available for the renter to play with. The platform will take a 2,5% commission fee each time a NFT is effectively rented, to which are added 5% royalties shared equally between the PE reward wallet and the core building team.

On the rentee side, the process is also very simple since they will only need to select the NFT renting offer they like best and approve the transaction on their wallet.

The rentee will then receive a DO NFT allowing him to access the great escape exactly like the actual GLMR JUNGLE NFT.

⚖ There will be no distinction made between rented NFTs and owned NFTs, meaning that all the scores obtained with a rented NFT will be added to the rentee’s player profile and any prize received will be the sole property of the rentee.

Anyone can become both a renter or a rentee depending on their goals and needs.

🤩 What’s coming next?

Expect some good fun in the next couple of weeks!

On the week of Thursday 15th to Thursday 22nd December 2022, all the rewards ( GLMR and GLMB) will be exceptionally doubled in order to attract new players to try the V1.5 of the Great Escape.

The following week, players will enjoy our special Christmas map with many surprises coming along with it.

On the longer term, the core building team will now focus on the delivery of mobile compatible V 2.0 of the Great Escape expected for March 2023.

This mobile version of the game will see the creation of a non-crypto version of the game that will allow regular players to claim assets on-chain...
